Bloodaxe Books is Britain’s premier independent poetry publisher with an international reputation for quality in literature. Bloodaxe’s authors have won many major literary awards, from the Pulitzer to the Nobel Prize for literature.

Bloodaxe Books was founded in 1978 by Neil Astley and the editorial offices have been housed at Highgreen since 2000. We have since enjoyed close collaborations and many Bloodaxe poets have taught on Highgreen Arts writing courses over the years.
